MY INSPIRATION AS A POET

My aim is not a poet

Nor do I seek a laureate

My words sometimes erupt from anger

And up in poems of different genre

I focus on the darker side of real life

I always try to reflect the deep emotions of mankind

To some people it may not be their kind

I write from my heart

And it goes with my might

I write from what life teaches me

And also what it means

I write from experience

This makes my poems ingenious

Sometimes I write from pain

And can go profane

I take away prejudice

And implore justice

I give my own appreciation of issues

But that may not be my attitude

My love poems are mostly personal

This makes them original

My thinking may be odd

But that is not to all

The world will call it poetry

But I will call it mere philosophy

When I speak the words

I’m never heard or understood

But when I write them

I’m heard…
