A NIGHT OF A THOUSAND TEARS

Until God spoke

For us this race

It was years after slavery

And decades of segregation

We waited for this day

To seal our freedom

So on we waited for the man

Who gradually climbed the ladder of success

He was perfect in speech

Majority of the world endorsed him

And he emerged as the victor

So when it was all over

He stood before us

Black and white

And gave a speech

That will remain for a lifetime

All faces were wet

Not forgetting Opera

Each sharing the tears of joy

It was a night of a thousand tears

THE HANDS OF TIME

Always i think

Just a mere thing

But causes change

So So strange

It tells you when

And continues from there

It brings you to birth

And sees you to death

It only hangs on the wall

But a tic could see you fall

It tells you what to do

And can lead you to doom

After a while of ticking, it says you are old

So man leave home

It looks funny

But can do many

A change could see you smile

And another could see you cry

When i see it run

I wish it could not go fast

But it smiles

And says i will forever last.

LOST BECAUSE OF A WOMAN

Before we were all on earth

There be a place of paradise

It was hoped to the end

But she advised otherwise

It was all loving, so many to eat and feed

Out all came from the creator's voice

Full of glamor and peace

Then man opted a choice

After appreciating the garden

Man sung praises

Because his heart was gladden

From a rib saw two faces

Perfect couples indeed

Forever should there be this union

In this paradise of green

And not to vanish into oblivion

This may lead to death

A nice fruit with attractive color

But she went disrespect

And it was lost forever

NO ONE COULD EVER STEAL

Though we’ve had good times together
Sadness sometimes appeared
But now you are far away from me
I know I’ll never meet again
Someone just like you
But now is the time to take a moment
For you to know my feelings
My love for you
No one could ever steal…

LOVE PASSED ME BY

Like a beaming sun
I thought it could be fun
But it was fast
And equally just
And like any human, frank

Twilight stars set, dawn sun rises
Yes love comes with prices
But it gave me surprises
So I kept on in my fantasies
And couldn’t have my kisses

Not again
This love keeps on diminishing like a rain
And winks anytime I say
Love come and let’s reign
Buy I still pray

This time I will mount a blockade
And Keep love as my aide
And enjoy it in my cool bay
I will worship my love each day
And to the world create an image

Again it passes with great alacrity
I don't want to believe it’s my stupidity
Or should I believe its destiny
I just have to take it gracefully
And hope someday I will make good discovery

COME FOR BLOOD

To all
Come for blood
Before it expires
I have in abundance
Always fresh and red
You need no canines to be a sucker
But courage and a sense of evil
So come, come, come for blood

A LETTER TO CUPID

Hear me speak
I have an acquaintance with the rudiments of love
It pours on me its vexation
Swinging its ugly face upon my making
Deserting me with its ridicules
Leaving me with only words within
Love is but a flickering
So it hurts before I blink
All my loves, I can’t withhold
Soaring away like the bristle cone pine
And I flinch anytime it yells

I constantly watch over many
Feeling its presence near
In me, I have done introspection
I blame myself not
For every soul lingers in fallibility
Constant in me is submissive
With all the servitude
I often stand on the edge of an abyss
And my happiness ebbs
My love cannot be toxic, for it glows

Now Cupid
These are my inner worries
That run deep and true
I fight to make each love
Better in every possible way
For a love, that is what I’m reaching for
But I’m shattered in a million pieces of failure
As they go, please keep me one
I beg of you Cupid
